Our Story
We started in 2014 servicing a handful of JennAir column refrigerators on the North Shore of Chicago. A decade on, we're a team of 28 technicians across six metros — still working on JennAir only, still running the same promise: if we can't explain the fault in plain English, you don't pay for the visit.
How it started
Our founder, Marcus Halloran, spent seven years as a factory-authorized in-warranty JennAir technician in the Chicago area. He kept seeing the same thing: a homeowner would buy a $14,000 JennAir column refrigerator, use it for three years, then watch their warranty end and get routed to a generalist shop that serviced twenty brands.
The results weren't good. Proprietary components — V2 dual-fan convection, Magnetic Rapid Induction coils, column-specific defrost systems — got diagnosed wrong or repaired with off-brand parts. Homeowners called back two months later with the same fault.
In 2014, Marcus bought a used Ford Transit, stocked it with OEM column refrigerator parts, and started taking calls from his old warranty customers. The first month he booked twelve jobs. By the end of year one he had a partner and a second truck, and the shop was JennAir-only — not because it was a market position, but because that's what he was good at.
The founding principle
"If the technician can't explain the fault in plain English, the customer doesn't pay for the visit."
— Marcus Halloran, founder. Ten years in, this is still written on the wall at our Chicago parts warehouse, and it still applies on every service call.
Timeline
Marcus takes his first independent JennAir service call on the North Shore, servicing a JFC2290VEP column refrigerator.
Two Bay Area technicians come on board to cover SF, the Peninsula, and the East Bay — where JennAir built-ins are dense in Victorian retrofits.
Climate-driven refrigeration demand in Gulf Coast markets drives simultaneous expansion into both metros.
We hit our 10,000th completed service call. Same founding principle, now with 19 technicians.
Los Angeles and New York teams spin up, bringing service coverage to six major metros and the full U.S. coast-to-coast.
We move our Chicago parts operation into a 12,000 sq ft facility holding $350k+ in JennAir OEM inventory at all times.
Why JennAir only
Our technicians handle one brand — which means they see the same failure modes hundreds of times a year. A V2 convection fan bearing. A column fridge defrost heater. A specific F5 range code caused by a moisture-shorted door lock switch. We've seen every one of these more times than we can count.
A generalist servicing twenty brands simply can't build that pattern library. That's why our first-visit fix rate averages 88% — we arrive with the likely part already on the truck, because we already know what's failing before the diagnostic starts.
How we operate
Our technicians are paid a salary plus a repair-quality bonus tied to customer follow-ups — never a commission on parts sold. There is no incentive to upsell you on a component you do not need.
Every Monday, all 28 technicians join a 30-minute call to share the strangest diagnoses from the week. A tricky Miami ice maker case often solves a Chicago one the following day.
No verbal quotes, no scope creep. The technician writes up the fault and cost before touching a screwdriver. If we find something else mid-repair, we stop and call you for approval.
Each metro runs its own parts cache — not just whatever fits on the truck. Common failure components for column fridges, V2 ovens, and induction cooktops are held within a 30-minute runner radius.
If our technician arrives and we cannot pin down the fault in a way you understand, the visit is free. This has happened 14 times in ten years. It keeps us honest.
Our team averages 6+ years on JennAir specifically. Two of our original hires from 2014 and 2015 are still on the roster — and they now train every new technician who comes in.
